This season has gotten really good... it had a slow start, but for a while now it's just been getting better and better, and by this point I am way into it. The manga did some parts of the story better than the anime, but the anime definitely does all the characters way more justice and gives them much better development. Episode 191
Ami talks some sense into Taiki, after winning a game tournament to go see him, and starts to convince him to trust Usagi.

Sailor Stars high session 7

Episode 187
Jealous girls at school pick a fight with Usagi, for being so close to Seiya... Usagi denies being his girlfriend, but Seiya stubbornly keeps trying and doesn't want to give up on her.
The Three Lights fans challenge Usagi to a game of baseball, saying they'll accept her and Seiya being together only if she wins... Usagi accepts the challenge just out of kindness.

Episode 184
Seiya gets to go to Usagi's house, and even goes into her room... he looks at the photo of Mamoru, tells him to quit making Usagi so sad... He was about to reveal his identity to Usagi, but she ignores him when Chibi Chibi shows up...
Then the other Three Lights members show up at Usagi's house as well... as well as Ami, Rei, Makoto, Minako, Haruka, and Michiru... and a news reporter who followed the Three Lights here... lmao this is a crazy house party.

Seiya and Usagi go on a date at an amusement park... but Usagi keeps worrying about Mamoru, who she hasn't heard from since he went to America...

Mamoru gets killed on his way to America where he was going to study abroad... Usagi has no idea...
This is where the main plot of this season begins.
The senshi are all going into high school now... and they go crazy over a popular idol group called The Three Lights...
Sailor Iron Mouse, a hilarious new villain enemy, is attacking people to gather Star Seeds... A Star Seed is like, similar to the pure hearts from season 3 I guess...

Mamoru gets taken through Nehelenia's cursed mirror...
Sailor Moon turns Eternal, and is now able to fly... she flies toward the new moon to save Mamoru.
Even though Chibimoon is disappearing due to the time paradox of Mamoru being in danger, she resolves to help out Sailor Moon still, and joins the rest of the senshi in a Sailor Teleport to go help Sailor Moon fight against Nehelenia...

Stars Arc story highlights + summary

I've read through all of manga alongside the series while high on weed... The first 3 arcs are pretty similar to the anime, with only a few differences... The 4th arc is where it starts deviating a lot from the anime, and this arc is pretty different too. It's better in some ways, such as the villains being more fleshed out, and the lore of the Sailor Senshi being expanded for more than the anime ever goes into... but it's not as good as the anime in terms of side stories and character development and all the non-villain-related plot elements that it adds.

Here's my abridged summary, just highlighting various parts of the story that I liked or wanted to comment on:

Sailor Moon SuperS the Movie: Black Dream Hole

I didn't like this movie very much. Here's a quick summary:

Some random kid with a flute makes cookies dance...
another random kid with a flute hypnotizes other kids into getting sucked into the Black Dream Hole.
The boss is some random alien queen.
The kids that get hypnotized turn into candy monsters to serve the alien race...
The outer planet senshi show up to help, because this enemy is from outside of the solar system... They learned new attacks from their talismans.
Sailor Moon eats one of Chibiusa's cookies in order to gain courage, and jumps inside the Black Dream Hole to save Chibiusa...
She realizes she's in a dream, and her silver crystal starts to brighten up the black dream hole world...
Another thing where all of the Sailor Senshi lend Sailor Moon their powers so she can use the silver crystal to fix everything, and wake Chibiusa...

This movie is using the theme of dream-snatching enemies from the SuperS season plot and doing something a little different with it... it was okay I guess.

Tiger sends a shadow remless to invade the dream Pegasus came out of, it tries to turn Chibiusa's dream ugly... but her dream is way too beautiful to be affected by it.

Sailor Moon SuperS high session 1

This 4th season has a much more light hearted tone than the older seasons... another really good thing about this season is that it focuses on more of the side characters that became irrelevant after season 1, and it gives the 4 other Sailor soldiers some relevance again, after they were quickly becoming irrelevant in season 3... Also the humor and facial expressions in this season are top notch.

Episode 128
The villains are some weird furry people... Tiger's Eye, Hawk's Eye, Fish's Eye... and they're being commanded by an old decrepit looking woman...
Motoki's sister is Tiger's Eye's first target... They are looking for people with beautiful dreams to try and find the one whose dream contains the pegasus... Chibimoon met Pegasus in her dreams, and when she prays to Pegasus, he actually appears in real life and grants her and Sailor Moon new powers...

Sailor Moon S Movie: Hearts in Ice

I got really high when I watched this... like, an 11/10 high session with edibles and vape combined... This was quite an experience...

My summary/comments:

Luna falls in love with a human... a scientist obsessed with theories of Princess Kaguya and the moon goddess...

Meanwhile, an alien arrives, trying to turn the Earth into a beautiful frozen wasteland...

The 8 Sailor Soldiers fail to stop her... she chases down Moon + Chibimoon... This enemy was banished from Earth earlier... far away from the silver crystal's light... now it has finally returned...

Luna and Artemis are so cute in this... Artemis is worried that Luna fell in love with someone else...

Pluto: "It's as if time has stopped..."

Luna learns that the one she loves is in love with someone else... she goes to Usagi, praying to the moon goddess herself, wishing to become human so that she could at least tell him how she feels about him... this is sounding amazingly similar to the Princess Kaguya story...

Then the enemy comes for the jewel that Luna's love interest is holding... Luna returns to her senses, recognizes that jewel and remembers the evil Princess Kaguya who was banished away by the Silver Crystal power of love and friendship...

Luna prays once again...

If I could be a human girl, I could be that Princess Kaguya for him... He'd become strong enough to fight off the evil energy.

Kakeru collapses when trying to chase down the enemy...

Someone... tell Hime... about Princess Kaguya...

Finally Sailor Moon shows up to fight her.

You shall sleep forever in my ice that never melts!

Sailor Moon tries to reason with this psycho... little does the psycho know, it's hard to argue with an invincible moon goddess...

There is no beauty in a world that is completely still.

She gets out the silver crystal, changes to her Princess form...
Princess level is like, her highest power rank, that is above even her ascended Super Sailor rank... When she goes into this form there's just no stopping her.
The other Sailor Senshi are now combining their powers to help their princess... Chibimoon and Tuxedo Mask join in as well... Then all of the other soldiers ascend to their Princess forms... and they all shout "Silver Crystal Power"
Sailor Moon prays together with all of them, and talks some deep philisophical stuff...

The stars of the universe keep moving as they nurture lives.

We, on this little planet we call Earth, were given these lives.

This is getting into Carl Sagan territory now...

Even Luna ascends into her Princess level... she becomes human... She brings Kakeru into space to grant his dream of being with Princess Kaguya... Kakeru recognizes Luna by the moon mark on her forehead and the ribbon he gave her... Kakeru talks about how he was an astronaut out in space and happened to see a goddess flying around... and Luna had seemed to be speaking to him in his dreams...

that was so good... took over 2 hours to watch this 1 hour movie because I was spending so much time deep in thought, analyzing my own take on the story and trying to put it into words... I don't know if I conveyed it well but... this movie really had an affect on me.
