I've read through all of manga alongside the series while high on weed... The first 3 arcs are pretty similar to the anime, with only a few differences... The 4th arc is where it starts deviating a lot from the anime, and this arc is pretty different too. It's better in some ways, such as the villains being more fleshed out, and the lore of the Sailor Senshi being expanded for more than the anime ever goes into... but it's not as good as the anime in terms of side stories and character development and all the non-villain-related plot elements that it adds.
Here's my abridged summary, just highlighting various parts of the story that I liked or wanted to comment on:
Sailor Iron Mouse... lol this is such a funny villain
3 new characters introduced, Saiya, Yaten, Taiki...
I feel the power of the stars in those 3
The Sailor Starlights show off their male->female Sailor transformations
Maker Star Power
Fighter Star Power
Healer Star Power
MAKE UP
Sailor Aluminum Siren... lol these villain names are getting weirder... she captured Mercury+Jupiter's Sailor crystals
Sailor Galaxia is the villain's boss... the legendary hero of Sailor Soldiers... and Galaxia seems to be serving Sailor Galactica
Sailor Moon is the only who who trusts the 3 Starlight characters...
oh and this new loli character "Chibi Chibi" shows up outta nowhere... she seems like a rehash of Chibiusa. her existence is a complete mystery for half the arc...
Another villain... Sailor Lead Crow... Rei's crows Phobos and Deimos seem to know her... these 2 crows are actually like, characters from the Sailor circle or something... they protected Sailor Coronis before Lead Crow betrayed them... this sidestory is weird and kinda confusing and hard to follow... I'm pretty sure isn't in the anime version.
Another thing exclusive to the manga is these "Sailor Crystals", or it might just be another word for the Star Seeds... These crystals make the Sailor Soldiers immortal.
ChibiChibi has a lamp with a genie in it... she's the Starlight Princess?
Sailor Tin Kitty attacks Luna and Artemis... Diana transforms into a human and saves them... wtf
oh, so Star Seeds eventually grow into Sailor Crystals... their carriers become the Sailor Guardians protected by a planet or a celestial body... this is some really cool lore
They go to fight Sailor Galaxia at the center of the galaxy... the center of Chaos...
The inner and outer senshi have all been defeated... then the Sailor Starlights get killed too... Sailor Moon finally believes in the immortal power of the Sailor Crystals and goes to fight, brings Kakyuu along... promises that she'll bring them back to life... I guess Moon's Silver Crystal is her Sailor Crystal.
Sailor Lethe and Sailor Mnemosyne... lol I don't remember these at all
Galaxia wants to battle Sailor Moon for her Silver Crystal, and become one with the chaos... to form a new universe...
Sailor Heavy Metal Pappillion... what... these villain Sailor names really do just keep getting weirder and weirder each time. What will they come up with next?
This was unexpected! Chibimoon's Amazoness team (introduced in the Dream Arc) b in with "Pink Ladies Freezing Kiss!" attack...
holy shit, the manga version of this arc is insane. I'd love to see this arc (and the Dream arc) properly remade in anime form...
Sailor Galaxia is affecting history and killing all the past/future Sailor Senshi as well...
Sailor Phi and Sailor Chi... some actual good Sailor Senshi show up for once, and help Sailor Moon

This plot right now... wtf this is getting into Gurren Lagann tier power levels. This is also getting deeply philosophical...
Chaos is where all life was born from, and where it returns after death... If she destroys Chaos, no more stars will be born, and some day, the future of the galaxy will come to an end...
Galaxia's reasoning is that as long as new stars are born, war will never end...
Darkness calls to the light... Light calls to the darkness...
Galaxia starts to agree with Sailor Moon... new cauldrons, and new futures will always be forged... everything will happen again...
All of Sailor Moon's enemies were after her, because they longed to join together as one... Sailor Moon is basically god...
So now they're like, inside a giant star, that creates all the new stars... or something....
The power of rebirth, comes from the combined powers of the Sailor Crystals all throughout the galaxy... bound together as one as the Cosmos Crystal... That's Sailor Cosmos.
In the very distant future, when Sailor Cosmos lost the war against Sailor Chaos...
So now Sailor Moon is the new Sailor Cosmos... In an eternal battle with Sailor Chaos...
...The amount of mindfuck at the end of this arc is absolutely INSANE... the anime's doesn't even come close to it.
