It starts off with some confusing, nearly incomprehensible family drama, about this little girl with a very strict/rich dad, and he blames the servants and beats them up whenever they let her do something as minor as going outside, and the girl cries... beyond that I can't really tell what's going on..
Then it goes to this high school kid who is working as a spy or something for an older lady. One day he accepts a job where he has to look after this little girl, the same one from that rich family. Apparently some bad guys are after her, and this high school boy's apartment is the safest place for her right now. The guy goes off to school, leaving the girl in the apartment alone, but when he gets back the girl had run away... He spends the night running around looking for her... The woman that he's working for, has some other woman find the kid before he does, and they conclude that this guy is trying very hard and should still be given another chance to take care of her...
When the high school guy finds the little girl, she is trying to hide the fact that she is crying, but he comforts her and she tells him about her dead mom...

Episode 02 - With the Drain and Stream
Nothing much happens in this episode...
Murasaki meets Kurenai's neighbours, including this one woman who makes her living by exploiting guys.. and another woman who she starts watching soap operas with... at school, some girl who has a crush on Kurenai gets curious about why he's always talking to someone on his cell phone about food and stuff, as if he's living with someone. He lies and says that he's protecting some old man for his job. Kurenai's childhood friend, a nerdy girl, knows all about what he's doing though.
There's a really cute part later on where Kurenai takes Murasaki to a bath house, and the old lady working there gives her a free drink. Kurenai tries to get her to say thank you, but she just assumes that old lady is another one of her servants and there's no need to say thanks.. but he tells her that she's only doing it to be nice, and then she formally thanks her and apologizes for doing it so late...
There's a really cute part later on where Kurenai takes Murasaki to a bath house, and the old lady working there gives her a free drink. Kurenai tries to get her to say thank you, but she just assumes that old lady is another one of her servants and there's no need to say thanks.. but he tells her that she's only doing it to be nice, and then she formally thanks her and apologizes for doing it so late...
Episode 03 - Face of an Impostor
This episode is pretty cute and funny.
Murasaki gets bored and goes to Kurenai's school, just wanders around a lot, getting lost, and making people confused. At one point, she's in a science room and sees a naked mannequin with the skin taken off half its body, she thinks it's a real person who is injured so she calls Kurenai to get help... It isn't until later that he comes across this room and realizes she's the little kid that people have been mentioning who is wandering around the school... Murasaki runs into Kurenai's girlfriend, they introduce each other and the gf reveals she knows a lot about the rich family this little girl is from... Murasaki starts to get suspicious of her and tries to run away... Then finally Kurenai finds them and he has an awkward time explaining himself while Murasaki is yelling at him...
On the way home, Murasaki gets sad because she doesn't like how Kurenai had to lie to his gf about her... Then when she sees some thugs forcing an old woman to leave her seat, she tries to stand up to them and Kurenai comes and stops her and apologizes while getting beat up... A really emotional scene at the end here where she argues with him even more, and then mentions that he's acting just like his mother when she died... smiling and pretending everything is okay...
At night, Kurenai has to sneak off to do another job, this time given to him by someone other than Beniki. Murasaki is wide awake and she follows him... That woman who is secretly spying on these 2 for Beniki to make sure the high school kid is doing a good enough job, sees Murasaki come out and follow him and she panics, calls Beniki...
On the way home, Murasaki gets sad because she doesn't like how Kurenai had to lie to his gf about her... Then when she sees some thugs forcing an old woman to leave her seat, she tries to stand up to them and Kurenai comes and stops her and apologizes while getting beat up... A really emotional scene at the end here where she argues with him even more, and then mentions that he's acting just like his mother when she died... smiling and pretending everything is okay...

Episode 04 - Clever One
Shinkuro gets beat up after Murasaki interferes in his job, trying to call out the bad guy for lying... Here you get to see more of what Kurenai is capable of... He has some metal blade in his arm that he unleashes whenever things get really bad, but it injures his arm whenever he does it. His gf at school knows about his arm too... Murasaki feels bad about screwing up his job, so she spends the day cleaning the room and airing out the futons...
Later, Shinkuro tells her the story of how his parents got killed in a terrorist attack and he and his friend were saved by Benika... and since then he's been training in martial arts and working for Benika in order to become stronger.
That black haired girl has an argument with Benika. Benika gives her reasoning for wanting Shinkuro to be the one to protect Murasaki. When Murasaki's mom was still alive, she was very depressed and felt that she didn't want Murasaki to have the same kind of life she had... So she asked Benika to kidnap Murasaki and let her experience the outside world. Benika says that Murasaki reminded her a lot of Shinkuro, and that protecting her would likely benefit him and help him get stronger.
Later, Shinkuro tells her the story of how his parents got killed in a terrorist attack and he and his friend were saved by Benika... and since then he's been training in martial arts and working for Benika in order to become stronger.
