Akko gets better at doing metamorphasis magic, and gets excited about the upcoming Samhain Festival, wants to win and become the Moonlit Witch just as Shiny Chariot supposedly did... but she isn't aware of how boring this festival is... Akko's team gets chosen to be sacrifices for the ghost. Sucy is actually excited to go inside a ghost...
Akko gets mad because everyone thinks Diana is gonna be the one to win the festival... Then she sneaks into the room where Diana is picking out a magic mirror to use... Akko gets transformed into Diana by the prankster mirror, then she plays a mean prank on Diana's friends... Then she finds Diana's room and sees her diary, and stops herself from reading it.
Then when she gets asked to do some difficult magic that Akko doesn't know how to do yet, the real Diana shows up and fixes everything, and scolds Akko for not focusing on preparing for her team's duty.
Actually I think Akko did read some of the diary... She seems to know about the fact that Diana is researching how to gain the power of the Grand Triskelion in order to revitalize magic to what it used to be...
Later that night, Ursula comes and talks to Akko, and gives her a confidence boost and hands her the shiny rod... then one of the shiny rod's lights glows and points to the Fountain of Polaris... She goes there to get advice... sees a scene from the point of view of some friend of Chariot... watching Chariot have fun practicing magic... Akko learns a new spell

Arae AryrhaShe realizes Chariot wasn't practicing in order to become the Moonlit Witch... she only cared about entertaining people. Akko tells her team she wants to put on a big metamorphasis show to make the ghost laugh when they do their sacrifice thing.. Lotte and Sucy think that's going too far, but Akko thinks having the ghost cry while eating them isn't very exciting.
Episode 13 - Samhain Magic Festival
Akko is so determined, that the other 2 eventually concede and agree to it. But she still has to practice her metamorphasis magic more to get better in time for the festival...
As the festival starts, Akko is still busy practicing and Diana thinks that Akko abandoned her duties... Then Diana goes out and puts on a crazy spectacular show with a bunch of water and a unicorn... Other than Diana's team, the spectators were underwhelmed and saying "It's no wonder magic is becoming unpopular"...
Akko takes the lead in her team's performance, using her novice level metamorphasis magic to put on a comedy show where she runs away from the crying ghost... everyone loves it... Lotte and Sucy are just flying overhead, providing support magic when needed... Meanwhile, Ursula has been spending this whole time trying to find the source of the ghost's curse. She finds out that Princess Vajarois swallowed the seed of sorrow in order to never forget her friends... this put an curse of sorrow on her spirit, making her eternally sad.
Ursula sends her crow to Akko to tell her to pull the seed out of Vajarois's body just as they're getting eaten.. Akko uses the 3rd word to pull it out and undo the curse. Everyone is amazed seeing this, including Diana.

That was a really good couple of episodes. I understand now why Akko was like "I've figured out what only I can do"... She can make people laugh with her novice metamorphasis magic.

Episode 14 - New Age Magic
This episode has a new OP/ED, and a new main character that seems to be plotting something...
A new teacher arrives to the school, Professor Croix... She uses a more modern form of magic and has hoverboards instead of brooms and all kinds of weird stuff... Meanwhile, the fairy workers have gone on strike and blocked off access to the sorcerer's stone, because the witches are using up too much of its power and not sharing enough of it with the fairies. Without the sorcerer stone's magic, the school has its power cut off and the students are unable to practice magic...
Akko gets fed up and goes to talk to the fairies, using Lotte as a translator... but it turns out she takes the fairies side and becomes their new union leader. She learned that the fairies require the sorcerer stone's magic to survive... She doesn't want to become the new Chariot at the expense of other people, so now she's trying to convince the school to let the fairies have a bigger share of the magic. One of the elders disapproves, saying it's impossible for the academy to use any less magic than it is using.
Then Croix jumps in, saying she knows a way to convert the sorcerer stone's excess wasted magic into a power source. Again that older witch disagrees because it messes with tradition...
Then there's some random mishap caused by an emotionless creature brought in by Croix.. the fairies revolt and force the witch academy to put Croix's system into place in order to meet their demands. Croix seems to have planned all this out... When Ursula comes back and is about to talk to Akko, she sees Akko talking to Croix instead and gets worried...

Diana is researching who Croix is... Ursula shows up and she talks about how she knew Croix as a student, but then backs off when Diana asks for more information... Diana then tries to look up info on Ursula...
Ursula fears that Croix must be after the revived Claiomh Solais (aka Akko's Shiny Rod).
Akko is totally a fan of Croix now, but other students don't like this idea of magic becoming more like science...
That older teacher who is against Croix's modern magic, says she used to be a fan of Croix... While Chariot was bad at her studies and wasted the school's magic doing performance art, Croix studied and worked hard to try to bring magic to the modern age... but now she's bringing too much science to the academy... Making everyone use phones and tablets and stuff...
Akko talks to Croix about Chariot, and Akko is surprised that Croix thinks highly of her. She then convinces Akko to bring the rod she found in Arcturus forest to the New Moon Tower, where Croix's lab is set up... I think that's also where the sorcerer's stone is.
When Ursula finds out where Akko is, she starts rushing for the tower... Croix starts scanning the rod and Akko, trying to figure out how she uses the rod's power... She sees that Chariot is approaching, and the tower's defense system kicks in. Ursula goes through this intense action sequence while climbing the tower... her hair turns red and she looks more like Chariot now... Ursula/Chariot confronts Croix and rescues Akko, but Croix has already gotten what he needed out of her.
After Akko wakes up, Ursula tells Akko the origin of the Shiny Rod... it's from 10'000 years ago, when Yggdrasil was still filling the earth with infinite magic... Yggdrasil's branches even held the stars and planets together... but the witches used up so much of its magic, that it eventually whithered. The original power of the Yggdrasil, the Grand Triskelion, was sealed within Arcturus by the Nine Olde Witches... only the revival of the seven words can break the seal.
Akko realizes that Chariot must've been trying to revive the seven words this whole time... She says she'll revive the rest of the seven words and meet Chariot.
