Here's unorganized notes I made while I played through the visual novel YU-NO. I didn't comment on most of it, just a few parts where I was really high while playing and wanted to highlight some stuff...
Spoilers ahead...
One cannot repeat history, yet the passage of time itself is reversable.Ayumi's company seems to be trying to dig up a certain mineral...
a jewel in the lab near Ayumi's office needs 2 cards...
Found Ryusouji's mansion... combined with being high, and the parallel worlds concept, getting crazy nostalgic vibes here from playing other older VNs...
That estate is apparently the cause of the lightning curse rumors... and might be connected to the 400 year old rock carving.
The storehouse was built just half a year ago, and since 1 month ago Mitsuki noticed it was suddenly in a state of ruin, as if it was hundreds of years old...
Eriko knew all about the time travel stuff, and discovered the skeleton of the real Ryuuzouji in the storehouse...
A bit later, as I got further in the story...
Chaos Correction...
Devil carving, crown carving, black+white stone gate...
Houjou... an investigator looking into Kanna and Kodai... his employer could be the same person Eriko is investigating... Ryuuzouji...
The flame of life... transformed into a stone jewel...
Once all 8 jewels have been gathered, a new path will open up.Hypersense stone... stole it from the Geo Technics labe on Kaori's route to save Kanna... Kanna had the key to Kodai's study all along...
Then there's the epilogue... wow this part went on WAY longer than I expected. It was practically a whole separate VN on its own rather than an epilogue. Here's my notes I kept on this section...
- The 400-year cycle theory, the celestial race, and the flame of life...
- Kaytia... Keiko... the oldest local inhabitant in Sakaimachi
- Hypersense stone under Sakaimachi... it responds to our consciousness
- after Keiko killed herself, she left behind Takuya and the Reflector device... it draws its power from 8 crystallized hypersense stones
- Ayumi's job was to produce crystallized hypersense stones as replacements for the 6 missing jewels, but that seemed impossible... was that what Ayumi's 20th page of documents was about?
- multiple paths in which the past could form the present... history is irreversable. one cannot repeat history, but the passage of time itself is reversable.
- so... Ryuuzouji knew about all the stuff in that memorandum, except for the reversable time stuff in the torn out section
- finally, the 8 jewels are embedded in the reflector... "Ye who carries the symbol of the king... giveth thine answer!"
"When light and darkness cross; when the celestial and the demon cross, the name of the king shall emerge overhead."
the gate to "eidos" opens... Kodai is inside, he answers all of Takuya's questions
"establishing a history is equivalent to building worlds"
history is accumulated and etched into vrinda's tree...
"We float downstream along the flow of event elements, as if caught inside the current of a river."
Fate...
- ended up in some other world... met a blonde girl who could not speak, apparently named "Sayless"... and a brown woman with a sword who says this place is a country called "Dela Grante", and Takuya must have crossed the Border from another world.
- Sayless is a priestess, fated to accept the powers of god into her body and purify the world and subdue the wrath of nature. if she is here at the borderlands at this time, it means she has forsaken the rite.
- Dela Grantia descents every... 400 years?
- Sayless has to perform the rite of her own volition... however, there must be some reason she is here at the edge of the world right now...
"I must evoke goddess Grantia's descent"
...
- so Sayless has Takuya's daughter... they name her Yu-No, she grows up very quickly, and after 4 years...
some castle knights have come to take Sayless away to perform the rite... her true name is actually "Careless"... she kills herself instead...
- now Takuya decides to cross the desert with Yu-No so he can pay back the god emporor with his fist... they barely make it to an Oasis, met a theif girl, Sala, she tells him about the rebel group
- a sacred treasure in the imperial temple...
...
sheesh, this turned out to be much longer than anticipated
- so, these celestials have slaves digging up these holy stones. Takuya has joined them.
... the opposite of the triangle mountain thunder. it zaps anyone who tries to quit excavating stones...
- after Kun-Kun comes to try and save Takuya, he gets thrown in an isolation cell, meats Amanda, the head of the resistance, learns that the priestess' rite and the holy stones are useless, it's all a ruse.
- suddenly, when him and Amanda are about to be tortured, an earthquake, and KunKun in her human-like form flies in and saves them
- back to the temple again, for no reason other than curiosity... the treasure it contains is... a reflector device
- finally infiltrated the imperial capital... went through an underground maze... found Ryuuzouji tied up ontop of an altar
- so this Dela Grante.. could it be just another divergence of the original world Takuya came from?
- Takuya finds Yu-No, rescues her from the brainwashing device, and just as he's about to kill the god emporor... Ayumi... she lets us escape before we're captured...
- Eriko, a resident in the capital, helps us out... she's a dimensional investigator... explains the concept of Vrinda's Tree
- everything in this universe can be traced back to a single point, with events branching off it
- Dela Grante's world, however, has an odd "event loop", history repeats itself every 8000 years... not 400
- the root of the event tree, the edge of the world...
- the celestials turned their entire land into a dimensional travel device, in order to escape calamity...
- Grantia, the leader of a scientist group, developed artificial plants to give off oxygen, and an artificial sun to keep the floating dimensional continent alive
- this world periodically comes close to clashing with Takuya's world... every 400 years
- Grantia developed technology to control the contintent with her mind... Grantia requires a human female capable of synchronizing with her mind, so she can avoid the 2 worlds colliding
- Ayumi used her expertise to manipulate the "God" computer and became the defacto God Empress
- several people have crossed between Dela Grantia and Sakaimachi during the times when the worlds were in close proximity... Takuya's mother, Kaytia, the priestess of the previous 400 years, was one of them.
- what..so Dela Grante will physically collide with the earth of 8000 years ago?
- so either the 2 worlds will be destroyed by dimensional collision, or Sakaimachi will be destroyed by Dela Grante colliding into the earth 8000 years ago...
- Takuya left Yu-No with a jewel from the reflector, and after she synchronized with Grantia, he ended up back underneath triangle mountain, trapped... reloaded the jewel save and found Yu-No lying naked outside triangle mountain
- Dela Grante is now below Sakaimachi... since 8000 years ago...
