Rider offers Saber and Lancer to join his army. After they refuse, Lancer's master Kayneth shows up, and starts mocking Rider's master Waver... Rider then eviscerates Kayneth, calls him a coward for hiding in the shadows and making Lancer do all the work...

Then Archer and Berserker both show up and start fighting each other. Berserker uses his noble phantasm "For Someone's Glory", which makes him shrouded in fog... then Archer uses his own noble phantasm, the Gate of Babylon, and summons a bunch of weapons from his portals to attack Berserker... but it doesn't work... Berserker just catches the weapons and uses them against him. Meanwhile, Kirei relays Assassin's intel to Tokiomi, who then uses a command seal to force Archer to withdraw and prevent him from revealing more of his identity...

Archer:
Only a true hero is worthy of looking upon me.
Berserker is crazy powerful... he has another skill where any weapon he grabs becomes his noble phantasm. Berserker's master, Kariya, wants to win so that he can save Sakura from his father... Berserker attacks Saber next... Lancer sides with Saber and defends her, but then Kayneth uses a command spell to force him to side with Berserker. Kiritsugu and his fellow assassin Maya attempt to take out Assassin and Kayneth... but then Rider intervenes and forces Berserker and Lancer/Kayneth to retreat... Rider makes a pact with Saber... lol Waver is just like being dragged around through this all.

Caster was watching all this through his crystal ball... he thinks Saber is his long lost love, Jeanne d'Arc. Kirei notices a familiar spying on him in the church...

Iris takes Saber on a dangerous car ride... they stop when they see Caster (Gilles de Rais). This guy is literally insane... Saber can repel magic, so normally the Caster class wouldn't be a problem for her, but she's still injured from the fight with Lancer and Berserker. Saber tells him she's not this "Jeanne" person, and then they drive away. Caster isn't convinced, thinks Jeanne lost her memory... It shows one of Kirei's Assassin clones following behind Caster...

Kayneth also seems kind of insane. He's really mad at Lancer for not finishing off Saber... Kayneth's wife seems to be siding with Lancer, and she's the one suppling mana so that he can keep all his mana for himself.

Kiritsugu and Maya persue Kayneth to the hotel he's staying in, and then they get everyone but Kayneth evacuated before blowing up the building... holy shit... now I see why Kayneth is so obsessed with defeating Saber/Kiri.

Kirei finds Maya, the source of the familiar that was spying on him earlier...

Kirei, Risei, and Tokiomi decide they must prioritize taking out Caster, who is kidnapping civilian children and putting the secrecy of their organization in jeopardy.

Tokiomi's goal is gaining access to the "Root", a common goal of the society of magi... Kirei however doesn't seem to have a goal... He has no ideals or desires, yet somehow he was chosen to fight in the Holy Grail War. Later, Archer is talking privately with Kirei, and convinces him of his desire to learn about the goals of the other masters. More than ever, he wants to learn about Kiritsugu...

The corrupt Judge Risei informs everyone that the Holy Grail War is put on hold until the Caster is defeated, and offers an extra command spell to the master who does it.

Caster sees that Iris and Saber are watching through their own crystal ball in Einzburn Castle... Kiritsugu wants to use this opportunity to go after other masters while they're distracted, but Saber disagrees and wants to go after Caster... Later Iris convinces Saber to go after Caster against Kiri's orders...

Saber goes after Caster, and gets him to use his noble phantasm, Prelati's Spellbook... he commands an army of demons from his grimoire... Lancer shows up to help out Saber.

Kayneth managed to survive the exploding building attack, and goes to Einzburn Castle to battle Kiritsugu while Saber is distracted... Saber is like, literally acting as a knight protecting her king, queen, and princess at the castle... but now the king has to defend the castle on his own...

Episode 8

Maya helps Irisviel escape the castle, but then they run into Kirei... Kiritsugu battles Kayneth, and Saber and Lancer are fighting off Caster's demons. Lancer manages to pierce Caster's grimoire with his Gae Dearg attack, which nullifies his magic and causes the demons to disappear. Caster runs away...

Kayneth's magic is pretty tough, but Kiritsugu has him on the ropes with his anti-magic bullets. He also has a special ability called a "reality marble" that lets him control the flow of time and move extremely quickly... Kayneth's magic protection is futile and he eventually passes out, and Lancer shows up to save him.

Kiritsugu, the Mage Killer... he's a lot like Shirou... instead of unlimited swords he seems to have unlimited guns, and a broken tier time manipulation power...

Kirei's Assassin tells him about Saber approaching, and he stabs Irisviel and runs away... Iri uses Saber's healing magic Avalon to instantly heal herself and Maya.

Kirei:
Emiya is like me... understood and acknowledged by nobody...

Episode 9

Kayneth is now crippled and his magic circuits were destroyed from that last fight... his wife than breaks his fingers to force him to give him total control of Lancer.

Rider and Waver go after Caster, and track him down to his lair, which is filled with dead bodies... They get ambushed by multiple Assassins... Rider is confident, but not dumb, and thinks they should retreat now that they've found Caster's hideout and finding out that Assassin's master is actually still participating in the war.
